Public School integration

On this day in 1954, Maryland and Washington, D.C. public schools began school integration. Brown v Board of Education establishing racial segregation in schools as unconstitutional was passed in May of 1954. In September, Baltimore became one of the first school systems below the Mason-Dixon Line that began integrating their public schools.
