Langston Hughes

On February 01, 1901, poet Langston Hughes was born in Joplin, MS. Hughes was raised by his grandmother until he was 13 and then moved to Illinois to live with his mother and stepfather. Hughes was most known for being an important writer during the time of the Harlem Renaissance. Some of his most famous works are "Harlem," " Let America be America again," and "I, Too, Sing America" just to name a few.
