Avoloupe Smoothie
I feel like cantaloupe gets a pretty bad wrap since both it & honeydew are usually the hard, un-ripened fruits that are served alongside ripened strawberries, blueberries & pineapple in the generic fruit salad you get at chain breakfast restaurants.
But, a ripe cantaloupe is a sweetness like no other and the one I picked up last week wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it was perfect for this week’s smoothie.
I infused coconut milk again this week, this time with Sugar Pine Haze (flower) from James Henry, a “Black-Owned luxe cannabis equity brand” out of Oakland. It’s classified as a Sativa and with the top terp being limonene, it’s hella citrusy. The fat in the coconut milk is great for bonding to the THC, & the added fats (from the avocado) have been known anecdotally to enhance the effects of THC.
Ingredients:
1/2 cantaloupe
1/2 avocado
1 c. coconut milk
1 lime, juiced
1/2 tbsp fresh ginger
ice
Directions: Toss it all in the blender and whip it up.
*If you’d like to sweeten this up a bit, you could add in some honey to taste or even try some canna-sugar.
Experimenting in the kitchen with my favorite kind of flower.
