Bird Dog

This is one of the most underestimated moves in yoga because it can be performed easier than other moves, yet, if performed correctly, it can build a strong core and assist you in sticking your plank.

Begin in All-Fours with your hands under your shoulders and your knees under your hips. Extend your right leg straight behind you while keeping your toes on the floor. Engage your core, pull your abs up to lift, and squeeze your glutes to lift your right leg as high as your hip. From here, extend your left arm forward so that your upper arm is right beside your ear. Keep your gaze down and your head heavy. On your inhale, draw your left elbow to connect to your right knee without collapsing your chest. On your exhale, slowly extend your arm and leg back to straight. Repeat for several reps on this side and then switch sides and repeat the exact number of reps on your second side.
