Vegan Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup vegan sugar (some sugars have animal bone sediments in it)

  • ½ cup sunflower oil

  • 2 tbsp dairy-free milk

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ cup powdered sugar (for coating on top)

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350F, place parchment paper on a baking sheet then place that aside. In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, oil, plant milk, and vanilla until smooth. Next, add baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir with a spatula until it’s completely combined. Add powdered sugar to a smaller bowl, scoop out a tablespoon size ball of dough and then roll each ball very thoroughly into the powdered sugar. Then place the powdered balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet about 2 inches apart ( they will spread while baking) *DO NOT PRESS DOWN. Bake for 10-13 minutes. It’s okay if still slightly soft in the center. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 3-5 minutes. Then transfer to a cooling rack and enjoy!

Fun Fact:

Consuming a plant-based diet can lower blood pressure, even if small amounts of meat and dairy are consumed. This is according to new research from the University of Warwick Medical School in England. Lowering one’s consumption of meat and dairy has proven, time and time again, to have major health benefits.
