Mexico for the Low

Mexico Can Now Produce Low THC!
Currently, there are Mexican cannabis laws that do not allow for THC production, even if it’s lower than 1% of THC.
However, a company called Xebra Limited received a ruling from the high court of Mexico last week which states that these laws banning the production of lower than 1% THC are unconstitutional.
The Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks is attempting to block cannabis production and only limit production for scientific or medical purposes
Now that this barrier is removed, however, Xebra plans on producing low THC products combined of CBD and CBG. After an injunction was issued this past week, Xebra will be the only company in Mexico that will be legally authorized to import cannabis seeds, cultivate, process, extract, and manufacture cannabis.
They have what is called a “first-mover advantage” in the Mexican CBD and CBG market that could last up to 3 years. High concentration production is not allowed so they are limited to low production as of now. This injunction, however, is limited to only the production of less than 1% of THC.
This high courts ruling will now go to the lower court for implementation through the Federal Commission Agency.
Mexico is well on its way to legalization. Last summer the Supreme Court of Mexico issued a decision to authorize recreational cannabis, although regulations are still being negotiated.
